One of my earlier sculptures, "Sea of Dreams" was made from a live model. The teacher of my class posed the model on her back. Oddly, I find it very difficult to sculpt a face in that position.
I love the combination of the clay, the plaster, and the wood. It was something of an adventure to embed this piece into plaster that is on top of wood because I had to create a wire nest for the piece to rest on. The end result is a very heavy piece!
