Classical Oil Still Life Painting "Wine Country"

In my twenties, while commuting home from work in my little old car that was held together by my clenched teeth, I would dream about how I wanted to furnish my future home. I would start with a Persian rug, top it with a glass-topped coffee table, and have classical oil still life paintings on the walls.

My dreams have changed, except for the paintings on the walls. And I no longer worry that my bouncing car hood will fly up while driving on the freeway!

As with most still life paintings, I used a setup with directional light and real objects to paint this. 

I highly recommend using a picture light to accentuate the chiaroscuro use of color.
